Missouri River Lodge, a bed and breakfast, is located on a 2,000 acre working ranch near Stanton, North Dakota. Our lodge is nestled in a river bottom valley along the Missouri River, surrounded by badland formations. Our ranch has several miles of Missouri River frontage on the Lewis & Clark Trail.
The wide range of amenities and activities we provide makes the Missouri River Lodge an ideal choice for families, businesses, and reunions. Your "Adventures With A View” will give you memories that will last long after your stay at the Missouri River Lodge.
Activities
Activities include 10 miles of trails on which to hike, bike , ride (bring your own bike or horse), or rent a golf cart on site. The trail in the woods along the Missouri River is on the Lewis & Clark Trail, where you can view the beautiful scenery of the badlands and come across abundant wildlife including nesting eagles. We also have a trail to a national historic place called High Butte Effigy - Turf Cut Turtle Effigy. This is a very rare Native American site. Our third trail takes you to a state archeological village site of the early Woodland Indian era, a view that George Catlin painted in 1831 after the Lewis & Clark Expedition, and a buffalo jump. Further on this trail you can view the upper badland formations and enjoy the abundant wildlife. We offer horse boarding for those who would like to bring their own horses.
Our boat dock on the Missouri River will enable you to enjoy fishing, boating, or sunning on our private sandy beach. The quiet starlit evenings at our secluded ranch will allow you to relax and breathe the clean air that North Dakota is known for. For those interested in bird watching, we have five different habitat zones which include waterways, prairie, river bottoms, hills, and butte areas. The ranch has several eagle nesting sites for viewing the golden and bald eagles. Some of the other birds to view are Mourning Dove, Western & Eastern Kingbird, Lazuli Bunting, Indigo Bunting, Swainsons Hawk, Red-Tailed Hawk, Red Headed Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Gold Finch, Yellow Throated Warbler, Cedar Wax Wings, Sand Piper, American Kestrel, Great Crested Flycatcher, and many, many more!
Hunters can enjoy hunting with both bow and gun at our lodge, with fine hunting for geese, pheasants, wild turkey, whitetail deer and ducks. Special hunting packages are available.
MealsWe have six bedrooms available, each with a private bath, central air, satellite TV, telephone, wireless internet, and radio/alarm clock. There is a fireside sitting room available to the suites, and a large dining room for all, where you can enjoy your hot breakfast.
A hot continental breakfast is complimentary to all guests. With prior notice we are able to provide dinner for $25/person. We also have pizza available for $15/pizza.
